Am I going to be getting one of these goodbye videos? No of course not. You'll get something legit, like with a hug or something.
I stayed up with my partner to watch this ep and then it was TWO MINUTES LONG we were so tired what the helllllllllllllllll
Apparently I would have had more time to write my fic lol (which means you all have time to read it)
āYou are quiet todayā TODAY?
Before I start to unpack the hellhole that isĀ āClaraās father doesnāt knowā, I have to say Iām a bit disappointed that Frank finally spoke and it was only TWO LINES. Yet... this little interaction told us a lot of information. First of all, that Frank is not all silent and quiet. He probably is like that only when Clara is with friends/in therapy, or even when her father is around. Because of how close they were, and the fact that Frank was pushing her to do something she had been avoiding; thatās the kind of advice that comes from a good friend who knows you well. Maybe he is sort of a parental figure to her, because her dad is a mess and her mom is dead. Itās obvious they care about each other deeply. And Iām glad, gods, Iām glad that Clara has someone whoās on her side literally always present.Ā
Ok now all together: WHAT THE HELL, CLARA
Wait a goddamn minute because Iām not sure if Iām reading this right. There are two options:
She hasnāt told her father about STILL wanting to commit physician-assisted-suicide.
She NEVER TOLD HIM AT ALL
Like maybe her comments about how her dad wasnāt handling well the fact that sheād soon be gone was because of her disease? But maybe I donāt remember it well.
Either way, itās gonna be one hell of a conversation.
What I liked the most about this episode is how real it felt to me as a person who goes to therapy. Like, the doctor asking Clara if she was using a specific coping mechanism that sheās used in the past, because Kessler has been treating her for five years.Ā āI thought I grew out of thatā, but then Kessler reminds her that itās ok, that itās normal. Recovery isnāt a straight path, so this snippet of conversation really solidifies for me that Clara has been on a journey in therapy, that she has achieved a lot and become much healthier. Which, in turn, shows the audience that the decision to take her own life probably doesnāt come from a depressive state of mind, and is rather a well-thought decision.
which makes it even more irresponsible lol.Ā āThese are problems that canāt be fixedā is literally what every suicidal person thinks. I get the creeps every time the show validates her decision. Letās just hope no impressionable mentally ill teenagers are watching lol
wow iām salty today. sorry for that.
Iām not gonna touch theĀ āiām worried he wouldnāt surviveā thing with a ten foot pole bc it hits a little too close to home
LINC HASNāT CALLED I AM PAIN. I am also not surprised. And honestly I think itās the healthiest thing he can do right now. But then heās gonna go and do something stupid, I know it in my bones.
Iām glad that weāre apparently gonna meet Claraās dad! Very glad. I am so curious.
