i truly mean it, from the bottom of my heart, when i say ai has ruined fanfic spaces. the last thing i wanna do when i read a fic by an author i'm unfamiliar with is "is this AI? this specific turn of phrase, the cuts in their paragraphs; that sounds like chatgpt, but it also could very well be just them?" like genuinely i don't read as a witch hunt, i detest that, it's exhausting and sucks all the joy out of reading, but i would hate nothing more than to be lied to. to always second guess whether the words were produced by a human or an ecocidal machine has become a habit i so strongly wish i could shake
