some f1 fans truly piss me off because they were all hyping oscar as the second coming of jesus last year until he had a slump and now he's "mid" and "will never be a top-tier driver" and "is still and will always be slower than norris" (which is hilarious by the way because their pace differential on average is like .05s and oscar has regularly outpaced lando through 2025). people in this community are so fair-weather when it comes to drivers and its infuriating. like tell me you're just a glory hunter without telling me.

these are also the same people who were dogging on lando and saying he was a horrible driver for most of the year and are now kissing his feet and crying about how "goated" he is. i'm not sure if they're so braindead that they can't remember anything before the most recent race they've seen or if they truly just have no critical thinking skills but people like that are a scourge on this sport and are honest to god almost as bad as the most extreme lando/max/lewis stans (i'm talking about the genuinely unhinged ones btw not the normal fans).

hi! thank you for your interest in my shitposting! so yes, I majored in History and 10/10 recommend because I took the best fucking classes ever and had the best professors and just generally loved my program. but I also went to a very well-funded school with ample resources, so obviously I can only speak for my own experience, which was very lucky and rife with privilege on that account.

my career trajectory was admittedly sort of open-ended for the past few months but I was pretty set on law for various reasons that I won’t go into. my concentration within my major was (shortened version) the historical and sociological implications of US mass incarceration in the 20th century, and I recently finished a research fellowship which I can’t go into too much detail about because it’s a pilot program and the findings haven’t been released publicly yet lol. the pandemic forced me to decline a fellowship abroad and really evaluate my priorities and what I want to do!

basically, this call today dealt me a BUUUUNCH of really tough reality checks (thanks to my old boss/professor whom I love and stan and is very nice) but my boss also discussed with me various other paths toward (hopefully) affecting social change and feeling fulfilled in my work.  admittedly I wish I’d had this conversation earlier, but the pandemic threw all of my plans out the window and stomped on them lolol. 

I know that’s a non-answer but the details are a bit specific so yeah! thanks for asking and for reading this ramble xx

It's so funny how mclaren have lando pr disaster norris and oscar piastri who's nickname is prastri cause of how well he's media trained and how people talk about him in the media in the same team

the difference between someone who knows how to keep his mouth shut and someone who's never been told the word "no".

but for real though unfortunately i think the trauma of alpine is part of what caused oscar to be so heavily pr trained by the time he was properly on the grid. he had a lot of bad press around him with people questioning his loyalty and then wondering if he'd made the wrong choice going to mclaren and i imagine he was probably instructed to keep his image as squeaky clean as possible so no one could force any poor narratives on him. as he's gotten more comfortable we've seen way more of his old personality shine through and he's definitely become slightly less pr-ified but i think that first year will always stick with him and keep him from saying stupid sht. he's also just in general way more mature than lando which probably helps him use his brain before he opens his mouth.

lando on the other hand is not only a bit immature but is also used to getting whatever he wants regardless of how he acts. he could get away with being a pr disaster before mclaren got good again because people just dismissed it as him being a silly young driver on a midfield team. mclaren's pr team never really cared, and by the time they needed to start caring (specifically in 2024 when he started to really run his mouth) it was too late. they don't know how to say no to him, he's used to getting away with whatever he wants. its a toxic combination that's lead to him being the least pr trained and probably most disliked driver on the grid.

if you claim to like oscar but in 2025 were posting hate about him because you're a lando fan you do not like oscar and i don't wanna see you talking about him. its fine to root for your favourite but i've scrolled through your blogs, i've seen the gif sets you made of oscar crashing and laughing about it. i've seen some of the crap you said. you don't get to walk it back and pretend you care about and like him now that the season's over and your favourite won. that's not how this works. you don't get to say "oh he's so cute" and "oh look how sweet oscar is with lando" and "omg he's such a dork what a cutie" and "now that the season's over he moves me". you were not ever an oscar fan. you don't get to pretend to be one now.

blocking out the name because i don't want to single out a specific person but i did want to answer this which was in response to this post.

all i can really say is wow. i went and looked through some of their posts and yea the delusion is alive and thriving there. that one post where they basically said that oscar has resting boredom face all the time including around lily except for when he's with lando is genuinely bonkers.

also i found one of the posts of them talking about how their relationship is "private not secret" and... it is truly peak delusional behaviour to fully make up a deeper relationship between oscar and lando with the excuse for there being no evidence of this relationship being "oscar likes to keep his relationships private". like babe, they literally are only ever seen hanging out together on non-race weekends when they're at the mtc or playing padel with other drivers (and even that happens rarely since both seem to prefer other drivers to each other's company). surely if they were hanging out all the time outside of work there'd be photographic evidence of it from fans or paps? not to mention their 'theory' completely goes against oscar's own words where he's said he and lando are nothing more than work friends.

My guess is Lando will go along with it because he lets his fans do whatever they want but I see Oscar getting uncomfortable with it. He’s already tried to deflect when landoscar has been brought up before by shifting the focus to carlando

oh 100%. someone in a fanzone or something is gonna go too far and make one or both of theme extremely uncomfortable.

and yea i agree i can see lando going along with it. not only because he doesn't seem to care as long as it keeps his fans happy but also because he sort of seems the type to think that playing into it is less awkward than ignoring/calling it out. poor oscar though will definitely be uncomfortable and i feel awful for him for potentially having to deal with that. he seems to really not like people hyper-focusing on his relationships (totally understandable) and definitely prefers deflection but there's a difference between someone mentioning you and your teammate having a great bromance (and deflecting by saying he had a better bromance with his old teammate) and someone telling you to kiss or get married or asking if you're dating, etc.

people are unfortunately definitely unhinged enough to mention it to their faces and with the influx of new fans who seem to be specifically drawn to the 'yaoi bromance' of formula 1 i agree that it'll likely happen this season.
