Katie hadn’t even bothered going to the dance, the amount of work from her coaching was slowing her down but she loved every second of it, minus the throbbing knees. However, word of the wreck was quick to pass around Degrassi and one of her only friends had been involved. Luckily, her texts had been responded to which gave Katie the go ahead to visit the hospital. Grabbing her keys, she left a quick scribbled note to her mother and dipped out into the real world.
She had stopped by Tim Hortons and grabbed two coffees before finding a small diner. Quickly, she ordered Clare’s pancakes and got them to go, getting back into her car and taking a deep breath. Katie hadn’t been back to the hospital since her accidents, and those were much different than the one Clare was in- but this wasn’t about her. The drive to the hospital was spent preparing herself for what could be in store for her. The wreck, from what she had heard, wasn’t just a fender bender but at least they were alive.
Her car slowed to a stop, and she put it in park as she looked over the parking lot. It was still pretty early, but the parking lot was scattered with various vehicles. She listened to the crumbling of the paper bag as she put the food into her purse and grabbed the coffees, starting the real trip. Instead of peeping into a hundred rooms on the second floor of the hospital, Katie took the easier route and asked the ladies at the desk for Edwards, Clare; it was easier and she stood less of a chance of getting kicked out. Thanking the lady, Katie headed towards the said room and stepped in, pushing the door almost closed as she sat down beside the hospital bed her friend was propped up in.
“One order of pancakes, and one coffee.” Handing the food over to the girl, setting the coffees down on the table next to her.
