oh really? i'm just looking for an orthopedic doctor to get an official diagnosis and next steps right now, but if surgery is what he tells me then I'm glad it sounds like it would work. Kind of nervous about it tbh.
i was like half crying the first time it happened and was shaking my hand for like 20 minutes trying to get it back to normal. I've only had 1 other time where it was almost that bad, but i've been limiting my computer time at home, getting proper support on my laptop, and i have wrist guards to wear to support my wrists when it feels bad. also for when i sleep since i sleep like shit with my hands all curled up stupidly tight against me

It’s well known that animals have an understanding of sex, and certain roles that are attatched to their sex, but outside of mating season, many animals are often basically indistinguishable from each other in action. So far birds have not decided that the male birds are the ones that are supposed to get the worms to feed the female bird through out the year.
But back to the main question; are we caught up in a minor stage of evolution, that we’re supposed to out-grow, or is gender a universal thing among inteligent species?

I think I can tell you what she did! (Picture post for reference)
First thing was she made that deep part on the side and left that front section of hair hanging by my face. Then she wanted to add some volume at the crown, so she took the hair on the top/center of my head and crimped it (apparently this works wonders), and then backcombed it as well.
She then loosely curled all of my hair (which you can’t really see in that photo, since it’s from several hours later, and it had mostly fallen out by then).
Then she took the front section of my hair on the same side as the part, and used it to start the braid across the back. This is a fairly standard waterfall braid (a variety of french braid; there are tutorials on youtube). It is a “Dutch” waterfall braid though, which just means it’s inverted (you braid by pulling strands underneath each other, not overtop).
Anyway, she finished the braid off with a small clear elastic, and then pinned that just behind my ear on the other side. The section she had originally left hanging in the front also got pinned back behind my ear, with hair hanging overtop of the elastic, so the end of the braid wasn’t obvious.
Then she just went back and carefully pulled on the strands of the braid to make it bigger and pouffier. (She called this “pancaking”, although I have no idea if that’s a technical term or just her word for it.)
And that’s about it! I really liked it with the curls, but I think this would work just fine on straight hair too :)

"sixinchmessofweb" is a phrase from Annie Dillard's essay, "Transconfiguration" which is basically how writers sometimes sacrifice themselves to bring the light to the lives of others. And I can relate to that as an artist.
