It’s time we learn the power of our mother in her dances. We spent just a few hours with our fabulous friend Cynthia @ladylorenew who has studied Orisha dance, singing, drums, music everythang. She’s just a fabulous multidisciplinary artist who videotaped us. In the few hours we spent together we really got a lot o information to mull over. Like how does a Queen enter into the room/space? What does it feel like to embody that? Oya is far seeing, how would she gaze at you? How would she stand? The angle of her head? What does power feel like from your feet to the top of your head? Whew, And the intricacies of each movement that are not difficult just a matter of practice. We are so grateful we had this movement date and we are so excited to further develop our Orisha dancing and singing. More importantly we can’t wait to dance for Oya.
