It was as if her heart had been bleeding for the entire ride back, after securing their alliance and protection, and soon her body had been bleeding too, from the wounds inflicted by a few Azgeda warriors who hadn't heard of the coalition yet or had pretended so. But Clarke had ignored it, gotten another coat from the Grounders who were guiding her back home, had hidden the signs of being hurt, and had continued to solely focus on what she was supposed to say to Kane and the others about how Arkadia was meant to be from now on and, most importantly, on Bellamy. Bellamy who had come for her, who had nearly gotten killed by Rohan not long ago, Bellamy, for whom she had made a deal with Rohan and yet she had been forced to send home without her when at Polis. Bellamy who must have been waiting for an apology, not knowing how important it was that she had stayed with Lexa; he was probably expecting her to be back sooner than the three days that had passed, but Azgeda had had different ideas. She feared he and the others may have been attacked too on their way back.
So when Clarke went through the gates, allowed to pass, she ignored the infirmary, though sending a message to her mother and Kane through Murphy, who had made it back with her, and had made a beeline for Bellamy after asking for indications. "Bellamy!" she called out when she saw him, and couldn't run like she had done for their first reunion after Mount Weather, but she did feel the same relief at the sight of him, and pushed herself to a brisker walk, breaking into a hopeful smile, getting ready for the hug, "Are you okay? Did you all make it back safely?"
