Meet Murphy! He's a six-month-old lab-border collie mix. His humans, Jane and Paul, rescued him! He's their first dog, and they say he's "smart — too smart". He was also very friendly and is "best friends with everyone", they said. Jane graciously took this photo while I fed Murphy a treat Paul handed me.
I met Murphy and his humans while hiking through Clark Reservation State Park in Jamesville, New York. Its trails are relatively straight and flat, making it easy for a young pupper like Murphy to get his feet under him.
As we parted, I recommended Jane and Paul check out Superpower Dogs, a 45-minute IMAX film about rescue and therapy dogs. I'd seen it just that morning at the Museum of Science and Technology in Syracuse. Between that and the hike, it was a dog-filled day! 😍
