Isn't it ironic?
Demerzel, a robot that was born and should exist with their own kind as a hive mind community, is forced to live a life of loneliness because their kind is gone, and they cannot create more and endure this long life. Now they are wavering and behaving like a human, questioning every possible reality and being paralysed by inaction because the burden of choice is that heavy, and they are cracking to question what even is the greater good.
And there is Gaal, a human who is forced to keep parting with humans she loves, has lost a daughter and is carrying her daughter's zygote as a memento. Now she has created a community where she and her mates act like a unified hive mind. Despite not having the power of a positronic brain, she travels through time with a singular, unwavering mind, almost acting like a robot operating on the Zeroth Law for the greater good.
So what happens next?
