EWS class 67 number 67012 returns the empty Travelling Post Office (TPO) from Penzance on a lovely spring morning. For the benefit of those that don’t know, post was sorted by Post Office staff on the train as it made its way down to Cornwall and sorted post dropped off at various locations. In the evening the up service would collect unsorted mail and the same would happen, it would be sorted into order ready for delivery next day. The final days of the TPO were fast approaching at this time, and very soon, another part of our proud railway heritage was gone forever.
