The last presentation of a class always feels like graduation.
You ever just wanna stay awake the whole night in order to postpone tomorrow only to realize that it will come eventually and it’ll just be more painful if you’re tired?? Yeah, me too.

What’s good y’all, it’s your local trash writer anapieisawesome/@thegalanerd in need of some help from the OC community. Not like, dire life/death/gimme money help, more like, I have a project to do for one of my classes and I want to talk about how great the OC community on here is and my grade depends on it help.
So here’s the gist. I have to give a short presentation on whatever I want, so long as it can somehow connect back to English, and I was immediately like, hey, fanfic is English and literary! And OC fanfic is my jam on toast, so why not? What I want to talk about is how interactive and supportive and just plain creative the OC community is - because y’all pump out some of the coolest stuff, like, everyone’s edits are perf and beautiful all the time, and your characters are all so freaking realistic and well-written. I’d like to use examples of some of those edits for my presentation, and I’d like to talk about how so many different people can change the course of canon with a single new personality. (It’s a v short presentation, only like 5 mins total I think)
I know I tend to be more of a lurker (I’m v bad at starting conversations, and forgetting to answer stuff - I’m just not fantastic at that) and y’all might not feel comfortable letting me use your stuff because I hardly talk to anyone. So if not, please let me know, and I will literally change my subject and talk about, like, a book or something.
So yeah. If y’all are cool with me using your awesome stuff, let me know! I’ll only use it if I get explicit permission. Either in the comments, or PM me at either blog (@anapieisawesome and @thegalanerd), If there’s a particular edit you’re proud of and are cool with me using, send it my way! OC crossovers? Um, yes, I’d love to use those! (No sexy bits though, this is still v much a classroom setting.) Gifts for other writers? I’ll use it! Basically anything that you guys do with and for each other, and for yourselves.

I had two presentations for two different classes today, and no one clapped. Usually, this wouldn't be a big deal but, in my school/university, everyone claps for everything. It's hard to stand up in front of everyone and talk about some random subject or whatever and to have no one clap for you but they've clapped for everyone else…it's heartbreaking and it makes me so sad and embarrassed. I wanted to cry so hard. Everyone just started and looked at me.
