Let's Break Some Skillsets!
...by which I mean, let's draft idealized class-skillset combinations to counter other skillsets. We can also consider ideal builds for specific character (i.e. how do you break an "ideal" Vaike/Say'ri/etc.). Anyone can put a skillset (with a class if you want) in my ask, or if you already know how to break a set, submit it! **Note: If Lethality activates, it effectively breaks any skillset, so let's try to avoid that when possible.** I'll start with an easy one, stemming off of yesterday:
Hero + Allbreaker:
See, here's the thing. Allbreaker sets are really only good against enemy grunt units. All it takes to counter Allbreaker are whichever -breaker skills you need to counter your opponent's (in this case Sword- and Axe-), and then you can fill the remaining slots with whatever skills you want. We're going to assume this is a single encounter, so no Galeforce necessary. I can use Pavise to limit damage taken, Luna to increase damage output, and maybe Vantage to ensure I strike first in a critical situation. I could also use Sol instead, so that I occasionally regain HP after taking damage.
And, quite simply, since no unit can actually use all types of weapons, if one goes through the trouble of acquiring them all, you can adjust for whichever enemies are prevalent on the map. Your opponent is a Wyvern Lord? Switch Sword- for Lance-. That's all it takes.
Allbreaker adaptability can be obtained by any unit with access to Mercenary, Wyvern Rider, and Dark Mage class trees. These can be obtained by:
Using the Avatar
Using Morgan and/or Avatar's other child
Marrying Cordelia to a unit with Wyvern Rider in their class set (Allbreaker!Severa)
Once you have your five -breaker skills, you can mix and match as necessary. Also, many parent characters have access to at least one tree, so there are also many possible ways to make units that can specialize against certain unit types (i.e., Gregor and his children can get Axe- and Bow-, so they would ideal Warrior-, Sniper-, and Berserker-breakers).
