Classic Duets 2014 - The Rudolph Tomlinson & Antonio Campbell Benefit
It was last week Saturday Night at Redbones Blues Cafe, though it was off to a late start, the night was buzzing with chatter and patrons eager to be satiated with some good and live music all in aid of two lucky gentlemen Rudolph Tomlinson and Antonio Campbell. So with my Heineken in hand I sat back and allowed the music to take me wherever it pleased. I especially enjoyed the song choices, for the most part each duo did them justice. First Things First: Roslyn Williams & Maranto - Set the night to music, This duo has amazing chemistry and their voices blended so well together Nikiesha Barnes & Stratdon - You're my angel, Nikiesha is an exceptional performer and Stratdon was on par. Ikaya & Stephanie - Same Script, Different Cast , Great combo, the strength and gentleness made this quite dynamic. Aisha & Antonio Campbell - Love is, Strong & equal Mario Evans & Nikiesha Barnes - Say Something, I can't wait to see more of these two, they are match made in duet heaven! Duane Stephenson & Maranto -Psalm 23, Let me tell you, I cried, Exceptional! Mijanne & Daron Andrews - Good Girl Gone Bad, The show felt like it had just begun, pitied that it was only one performance by these two. Gifted. Roslyn Williams & GBlunt - Mr Loverman , Closing act, Mercy! Roslyn is an exceptional woman -Mrs.Lover! And GBlunt, well he is Mr Lover, Champion Lover so it's all fair! Other performances for the night included: The opening act by KimNain & Rudolph Tomlinson - Nobody Wants to be Lonely
Michael Harris & Mario Evan - The Girl is mine
Nina Carli & Stratdon - Islands in the Stream
Sherina Sharpe & Ifidel Williams - A Whole New World
Let me take this moment and say RIP Robin Williams, I will always remember you.
Stephanie & Aisha Davis - Enough is Enough & No More Tears
Dance Number by Recipient Antonio Williams and his Ashe Partner Ms Ivy,
Solo by Recipient Rudolph Tomlinson
KimNain and Michael Harris - You're the one that I want.
Needless to say when the show was over, no one wanted to leave! We actually pleaded for more. They closed the night off with starting group ensemble of Ashe members past & present, grooving to 'We are Family'.
