When they announced they were doing FlashbackFriday Episodes I was hoping for actual classic episodes. Like the very first one or Luke and Laura. Classic Nurses ball episodes. Stone and Robin. Anna and Robert. The Ice Princess. Those classic episodes is what I was looking forward to not ones from a few years ago.
Watching the 1984 wedding of Victor and Nikki. The Young and the Restless did things right with the “Flashback Friday” concept. Play classic and meaningful episodes that fans want to see. Show what made soaps great TV. It was very romantic. And I don’t even like Victor! I haven’t watched The Young and the Restless since high school (2006-2007) and that was the only time I watched it. So, I basically knew very few of the guests, or if I did, may not have recognized the actor playing them. But that made me look them up. General Hospital could and should learn from Y&R.
Random question: anyone else watching the Classic Eastenders on Drama? My mum started me on them before she died and I’ve just stuck with it.
I’m still about a month behind because I didn’t have much time over the summer to watch it as much, but Phil and Grant have just arrived and Kathy’s just turned 40 so I’m a whole world away. Like 29 years away from anything remotely modern. Hell, I wasn’t even born yet.
Trust me, the news between these two covers is not good. All I can say is that if its publishers offer you a ride to the stars... don’t take it.
