Get Faithful Classical Christian Education Today!
Whether you are thinking about an education for your kid or yourself, classical Christian education in Raleigh is a model that is definitely worth exploring. Trinity Academy learners are more prepped academically, more conventional in their views, think more independently, and are more influential than those from other academic backgrounds. Drop a quote!
Dark academia is just a modern humanist movement.
Classical Conversations & Math
Who just attended a Classical Conversations Practicum and fell IN LOVE with MATH again?!
This Girl! Woot! Good golly, sheesh, I heart all the maths!
...kinda.
...maybe.
...well, I failed three different years of it in High School: Algebra 1, Geometry 1, and Algebra 2. Eh-hemm. Math has not always been the Romeo to this Juliet. Just sayin’.
So how did I get to loving, learning, and tutoring math to my own kids and the young masters in my CC Community? Why does one young Miss in my class tell her Mom every week that “Ms. Bee’s favorite subject is math!”?
Well, two things happened & they happened concurrently. In fact, I’d say that this equation is Commutative:
USBORNE MATH BOOKS + CC MATH = Mom that suddenly gets math!
I have two children. Two children with different learning styles. Thank goodness for the times table practice pad. One child needs 700 explanations, 500 tiny cars to manipulate, and a set of hand hewn blocks to stack to get the answer? That’s ok, kiddo #2 is SO happy to just bang out all her Times Tables, singing the songs, and handing me page after completed page from this pad. Phew!
The Math Dictionaries also helped me not only sound like I knew what I was talking about - I actually found I really knew what I was talking about! Rare, but true!
There are three Math Dictionaries; First Illustrated Math Dictionary, Illustrated Elementary Math Dictionary, and The Illustrated Dictionary of Math. They all bridge the gap from Old Math to New Math, have pages that are laid out clearly with multiple examples and great illustrations for every problem/concept/principle you’ll come across from K - the High School Years.
Just check out that fractions page - that’s fraction love right there, from the Elementary Math Dictionary.
I also appreciate the novel workbooks from Usborne - so fun for the art inclined (who don't believe they’ll be good at math, but SO ARE!). Check out our This Is Not Series to see more.
Anywho, I hope you’ve enjoyed an Art of Arithmetic CC Practicum in your neck of the woods & if not, sign up for one! Math is a great topic to delve into as a group! You are not alone in your passion (or dispassion) for Math. We are all in it together.

Classical Academic Press’ French for Children {With an Amazing Giveaway!}
My eleven year old son has quite the love for foreign languages. Since we hosted an exchange student from France, he has been studying French informally, using various online videos and podcasts. He even started a notebook of his own with the words he knows but I know from my own experience studying languages, that at some point we need to formalize our learning. There is so much more than just…
