Stories & Histories: 1) A land of archetypal historical events, the Iranian Plateau is full of cultural diversity. The people who inhabit the region have stories that can take us back thousands of years. 2) The Shahnameh (The Persian Book of Kings) contains the oldest mythological stories of the Iranian Plateau. 3) The source and antiquity of the stories are unknown, but what we do know is that it was collected and turned into poetry by Ferdowski in the 11th century. 4) Poets living between the 11th and 16th century carried the weight of creating valuable collections of books and stories with dramatic value, a rarity in contemporary arts. 5) Because wise people preferred to pass the wisdom down from generation to generation & to choose their students, written literature is rare in the plateau. Although there is a lack of documentation in the regions the existing pieces of literature are valuable stories mainly in Persian language.
