Broderie (see english version below)
Mon but pour ce projet était de dessiner sans utiliser les outils de dessin traditionnels, de créer un contraste entre la tradition et l'art moderne. C'est pourquoi j'ai choisi la broderie. Le défi consistait à créer un design qui s'opposerait à la tradition de la broderie et qui porterait un message supplémentaire dans un style minimaliste. J'ai trouvé que la danse classique était un thème parfait, en effet, c'est un symbole de tradition, de complexité et d'excellence, tout comme la broderie, j’ai voulu remettre en question cela avec un nouveau point de vue.
Les coupures aux chevilles sont une représentation simple mais significative des dommages principalement physiques mais aussi psychologiques que cause le ballet.
My goal for this project was to draw without using traditional drawing tools, to create a contrast between tradition and modern art. That is why I chose embroidery. The challenge was to create a design that would be opposing the tradition of embroidery and carry an additional message with a minimalistic style. I found classical dancing to be a perfect theme, indeed, it is a symbol of tradition, complexity and excellence, just like embroidery, I wanted to challenge that with a new point of view.
The cuts at the ankles are a simple yet meaningful representation of the mostly physical but also psychological damage that causes ballet.
