#ArethaFranklin "Jump To It" is one of my favorite Aretha songs. And if you're a true #LutherVandross fan, you can hear his production, arrangements, and vocals. The production on this song is exquisite! It starts with the background vocals to command your attention. Then Aretha's sassy, sultry voice telling her girl she's gotta go over the synthesizers and drums, beckoning you to clap your hands and snap your fingers, giving you time to work your way to the dance floor. Then the infamous guitar licks and piano set the stage for the background vocals. Then Aretha starts teasing us with her gospel-laden "ooohs," "ahhhs, scats, and "ba-bay, ba-bay." The intro to this song is a song all by itself. It's the warm-up to your workout: gets the muscles warm, elevates the heart rate, fires neurons to signal the endorphins to "get in formation" because elements of funk, pure R&B, soul, and gospel are coming to WORK DAT BODY! Whew, Chile! Luther X Aretha was a GENIUS collab. He took care with the production so she could simply blaze the mic with her gift effortlessly. He carefully constructed the perfect song for his idol. This was from her 1982 album. I STILL cannot get enough. May their souls rest well. I give thanks to them both! #RealR&B #ClassicR&B https://www.instagram.com/p/B3XwWHelmFnfg-afG21jAKCOM3H1y13RL1gmJ40/?igshid=kuflf9tw19p6
