I have just done a thing! it took most of the evening, but the main point is that I *did* something.

The colour gradient is going [deep blue, yellow, grass green, forest green, brown, ice blue], and i believe the values are going to the floor of each value. i.e. all values in the range [0.8,0.99999] get set to ice blue. The singular black triangle is the max value in the whole data set, and jumps past the gradient into the void.
