The entire conversation regarding ICE and international students is built on privilege and class.

Everyday undocumented students and refugees who are studying are deported by ice.

Within hours of ICE’s announcement schools are scrambling to protect their rich students to protect endowments and money.

What efforts do you think universities take to protect the undocumented and the folks seeking an education and asylum??

Saying that men don't oppress women as a class is just plain ignorance. It's called a patriarchy for a reason and your linked article didn't prove your point at all.

I am a trans men and this is taken out of context or knowingly misunderstood. Their are several sections to ones ideantity and how one faces oppression it is not as simple as men oppress woman.

Classim creates a social higher archy from socioeconomy and woman how are in a higher socioeconomy class than men have power over them just like they have power over woman how belong to a lower class

The article I linked was how modern academia analysis power structers in society with intersectional analysis. The fact that instead of going "Societal power structers are complex" you thought I said men don't opress woman is really something. Their are several levels to power. One is not automatically more powerful over the other because their in an oppressed class in one of these levels.

The new wave in office workers (especially in the tech world) of campaigning for no more offices after covid and why don’t we just work from home forever just seems so privileged. 

It comes with an inbuilt assumption that everyone has or should have a working from home set-up equivalent to that they have at work. Here , for my job I need a room to separate it form my home life, a desk, a good chair, monitors etc. I have seen people say that those without space for this should move to accommodate it if working from home continues.

So suppose that this is the case where everyone is expected to be able to work from home. This creates a new barrier to anyone looking for a job in that company/field, that you must be able to afford and have the space for a working from home setup. Anyone who cannot do that will then have an extra struggle compared to those that do.

The arrogance of people pushing this really gets to me as they do not seem to even consider that other people may really struggle with working from home. 

To be clear I am not talking about the flexibility to be able to work from home when needed (or even wanted). I am talking about the people who want to enforce it so that everyone should work from home at least part of the time.

I always get irked when people make fun of black women with bad weaves, wigs and other hair stuff because of the misogynoir but there’s also classism. Black women who are wealthy/well off can offord to see expensive hairystlyists and pay for expensive wigs and weaves.

Meeting the gendered expectations put on black women is expensive and time consuming.

With the burning sun case I believe that asking for police help is not gonna cut it. They have showed time and time again who’s side they’re really on and it shows how very little they care about real justice. At this time citizen involvement should be more prominent because the police are unwilling. I’m not against citizen involvement in the case, people should start hacking,reading dates, looking at connections, looking at past incidents, etc.

I’m not going to pressure people into doing it, lord knows if I had the skill to do all of this by myself I would. But for example, the kpop fandom, they’ll be the first group of people that will tell you which idol ate at this restaurant, find secret instagrams, hack social media and emails, spy on idols and even find schedules and fly the same airplanes. At that point they’re literally detectives. It’s multiple people from around the world vs a few cops in South Korea. With all that talent combined you really can get more evidence then any cop over there trying to “investigate”.

We all laugh about how the kpop fandom could literally be detective, but I wonder if we actually could. If we investigate and protect each other I wonder how much power these chaebol’s really have.

I hate when people who have money argue with people saying they can’t afford to travel. You might not be rich but your definitely not going pay check to pay check. The working class doesn’t get privileges like that. Once you pay for rent,food,gas, or any thing else you might need, THATS IT! There is no left overs,and that could fluctuate to if you have debts or kids. Unless your going to save your money for them, shut up.
