Art Theft Scam Alert — classymedallion (now going by delizaviinne)
Just a heads up because I was contacted by this user minutes ago: Do not respond to any dms from @/classymedallion. They request for you to commission art from them for $75 in an expressed need for rent money (that's already an odd start to the conversation), but they do not provide any up front links or avenues to send funds in their commission post or in the dms.
To add to this, prior to the back to back posts of their artwork, you're greeted with a recent reblog after reblog of popular posts and only that. But the biggest red flag was the stolen artwork they claim to be theirs, and they've specifically targeted one artist by the name of @cherrysphinx (who also has art on other platforms). You can do a reverse image search for almost every single piece and find where they're originally from.
If any of this feels familiar, then it's because another account used this exact same tactic in the past, and even stole a great number of Cherrysphinx's art.
Even their so-called commission template where they're begging for money to avoid losing their house is stolen and cropped to hide the watermark (the image in their commission post was ran through the search engine and it led to a post on Weasly by Rococospade).
I linked the sources of each post below, just for reference since it seems that the same pieces of artwork are getting targeted.
Classymedallion's pfp was stolen from a user named selamander
Their banner was stolen from a post on Furaffinity by Kornepheross (the image is only viewable on Furaffinity if you're a member, but the search engine was able to find the art on Reddit)
Original artwork stolen from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr (the search engine didn't bring up the original post, but this artwork is actually what led me to the post about the other scam account)
Karlach art the search engine found on Bluesky by Cherrysphinx (also on their Tumblr acct)
Witch artwork the search engine found on ArtStation by Cherrysphinx (I funnily enough found the same catalogue of stolen artwork on DeviantArt), is also on their Tumblr acct
Wyll fanart the search engine found on Bluesky by Cherrysphinx (also on their Tumblr acct)
Dame Aylin fanart from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Astarion fanart the search engine found on Cherrysphinx's DeviantArt and ArtStation (also on their Tumblr acct)
Original artwork that was also uploaded to the aforementioned DeviantArt acct full of stolen artwork, was stolen from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr acct
Persona 3 fanart from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Karlach fanart from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
BG3 fanart from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Tav fanart from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Original artwork from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Original artwork the search engine found on DeviantArt by Cherrysphinx (also on their Tumblr acct)
Original artwork from Cherrysphinx's Tumblr
Original artwork the search engine found on DeviantArt by Cherrysphinx (also on their Tumblr acct)
Original artwork the search engine found on Cherrysphinx's DeviantArt acct (is on their Tumblr acct as well)
Art Theft Alert – saturninoxia/emmiefurthe/erisstarflower
I myself haven't been contacted by these accounts, but people who have been reached out to me to make a post about the situation.
The users @/saturninoxia, @/emmiefurthe, and @/erisstarflower are all scam artist accounts. They all have the same pinned post begging for funds to pay for rent that's due in a week, the exact same bios, the exact same art, and have dm'd other unsuspecting users in the hopes of gaining access to their funds.
They're more than likely run by the same user that primarily went by the name classymedallion judging by their heavy usage of @cherrysphinx 's artwork. I previously made a post chronicling the temporary end of classymedallion's actions, but @rococospade confirmed that this user will start up new accounts after the older ones are taken down (something I understood would happen considering how they perform these schemes with a blatant disregard for being caught).
The pfp of saturninoxia was stolen from cyraenea, which they state in their bio was made by a user named deisycore (the blog is blank, but following a link from a post they were previously tagged in led me to liminal-lucidity, do correct me if I'm wrong). The banner image, which is actually a gif, was stolen from @mysteryskullsanimated (was also found on DeviantArt in MysticFireWorksFTW's gallery).
The pfp and banner of emmiefurthe were both stolen from @nelvana.
The pfp of erisstarflower was stolen from @sunpuppycat-art. The banner is straight up just a fish icon from Monster Hunter.
I won't go through nearly every post as I did before, you can do a reverse image search for every single piece of artwork and you will get a result for them being located on someone else's blog or even on sites other than Tumblr. Nothing in these blogs belongs to them, and none of their claims of needing money is followed up by a means of sending them funds in an appropriate manner.
It seems that the classymedallion saga has finally come to an end.
I originally thought they finally blocked me as I was swiping through my tabs and realized they weren't in my dms anymore. But I did a quick search of delizaviinne, along with their sideblogs lo-xu and sapphire-mk, and I was greeted by blank pages stating that the blogs didn't exist.
Of course, not seeing a blog doesn't mean you aren't blocked, so I went the extra mile and logged out to search as a guest and was again greeted by the "this blog doesn't exist" message.
I even logged into my own private blog to access the links in my post about them, as well as searched through a handful of mirror sites, and reverse searched the stolen art to find their posts, but I was unable to find classymedallion or their related names/blogs.
Plus, I did a brief search of the other accts @ai-art-thieves listed in this reblog that followed this same pattern of commission scamming, and none of the blogs appeared.
The cherry on top though? The DeviantArt acct I previously mentioned that contained the same stolen artwork is apparently gone as the link I provided in my first post leads to a 404 page:
So I think it's safe to say classymedallion is gone👏🏽At least for the time being.
The only reason I made this update post is because that user stole art from multiple artists and uploaded that art to multiple platforms, and even went so far to make at least six different sideblogs containing the same stolen art, with @cherrysphinx being their most prominent target. This is an evident case, but a lot of art thieves aren't so brazen to be caught like this, so stay sharp.
If an artist, writer, whatever, approaches you specifically for help with paying bills or rent rather than making a public post about it, that's a red flag.
If they ask for your information instead of providing their own information up front, that's a red flag.
If their posts seem out of sorts, like their blog was full of reblogs of popular posts and nothing else before the posts of their work, that's a red flag.
If the posts of "their" works are back to back within too short of a time frame, that's a red flag.
If you find "their" works on other sites or blogs under a different name, or are unable to find their works under their name at all when doing a reverse search, that's a red flag.
Obviously there are exceptions to these rules, and there are more things to look out for than what I have listed above, but they're still things that should be kept in mind. Know the signs and remember them.
Art Theft Scam Update — classymedallion (now going by delizaviinne)
I happened to be scrolling and saw that classymedallion had at some point changed their username to delizaviinne, which effectively nulls all of the links in my previous post about the fiasco. Another thing: they updated their bio to include two new blogs under the names lo-xu and sapphire-mk, both of which contain a lot of the same stolen artwork as seen on the former classymedallion blog.
I do think this was a very recent change since classymedallion is still in the bios of the other two blogs.
