If I had a nickel for everytime a fanartist I liked randomly blocked me, I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened thrice.

#rambles #was about to reblog some cool fma fanart but tumblr smacked me with their silly little error message😭#i never interacted with either of those artists btw—i just cross paths with their reblogged posts and found out that way #I'm not even sad or mad or disappointed—I'm more confused than anything and that's what bothers me #the only thing i can think of with the most recently discovered artist is that they don't like fma 03 (which i talk about a lot)#i know i've criticized fmab but i make it abundantly clear that i like fmab (at least i /hope/ i make it abundantly clear)#if i really didn't care for it i wouldn't even be talking about it in the first place #edit a day later: maybe i should consider myself lucky for being blocked by them when considering what kind of people they might be #they could be generally decent people but there's something to say about the way they'll block someone they've never interacted with #especially when the person they block is posting and doing things that are relatively harmless (i know it's odd to say that about myself)#I'm not so naive to think people couldn't possibly find a reason to dislike me in some way (I'm a grown adult) so i won't dwell on this #but the only users i've ever blocked were bots and one or two people that were genuinely spreading hate about bakugo back in the day #it's fine to dislike a character but to make your entire blog about that?? that doesn't seem healthy nor fun but maybe that's just me💀#i think another thing that bothers me with how people are quick to block up here is the fact that tumblr allows users to block words & tags #—instead of fully blocking another user (so that you don't ostracize yourself from them and just avoid certain things)#but uh yeah that's about it: sucks that i was blocked without warning but it was likely for the best that i was blocked

Now that you mentioned it, i hope Syundei is doing alright.

I miss her presence online, but hopefully she's doing much better without being on Twitter. I especially hope her health is good because I've seen people say she'd gotten sick a while back and lost a lot of weight, which would partly explain why Ganbare Nakamura-kun's manga hasn't had an update in a long while.

One of the largest attractions to Syundei's works is her artstyle obviously, but her storytelling is very compelling as well, and she's great at forcing her characters to confront both the best and the worst parts of themselves without the conflicts feeling forced. Idk how to describe it without going full essay and analysis mode (I also just don't have the time as I'm typing this), but the short answer is that I love Syundei's works. I have enough braincells to accept if she chooses not to continue making manga, or at the very least not continue Nakamura, yet I'm always wishing she'll make a return someday.

You can talk about this episode's weaknesses as much as you want (really, you can, because even I can't spin most of it's weaknesses into strengths), but some of my favorite scenes in the 03 series come from this episode, one of which being when Al remembers their mom being bedridden and cutting an apple for them.

It's a small moment, and it obviously exists to show how Al sees a maternal side to Clara as she cares for the patients (which is actually a recurring element of his throughout the series), but I like how it adds a bit more substance to that period of time where Ed and Al were doing their best to care for Trisha before she passed. Seeing Clara at work reminded Al of one of the better days when their mom wasn't in a fever induced delirium or struggling to sit up in bed.

why the fuck was the latest episode of Go for it, Nakumura Kun so damn relatable 😭

Seriously. That one scene of Nakumara walking while being surrounded by a bunch of heterosexual couples after learning that Hirose has a girlfriend might be the single most relatable thing I've ever seen. Something like that happens to almost every queer person who's lived in an unaccepting, heteronormative culture (which I'm sure is all of us). Honestly, I hate how relatable this episode was. I hate it, but I love it. I'm not sure what I want the ending of this series to be. God. I literally cried at this episode it was so heartbreaking.

And you always know, deep down, that they're probably never going to actually date you, but it still hurts like hell when it happens. Because you're just a fucking 15 year old who has dreams of falling in love like most other people, the only difference is, you love the same gender.

I've also been exactly here before

You think you're fine with just being friends, but then, they start dating, and your whole world turns upside down. Reading too much into your friendship until you start having hope, and then it being ripped away. It fucking hurts.

I'll be fair to the animators: while I find it very dumb that they couldn't show a gunshot wound to a hand, they did at least manage to show the mechanisms of injury and death as best as they could without being too graphic.

In all fairness, the first episode had some pretty good gore when Gabby was chomping villagers. It was a little hard to see but you could see bones of the ribs and the folds in the exposed brain. I checked and that wasn't in the manga so it was added to the first episode.

Yeah I went on a little rant about that in the tags because it bothers me so much. I wondered if the censors are indecisive about what can and can't be allowed on screen, which is odd since, as you said, we've seen varying degrees of injuries and killings so far and the animators had no problem making their own additions.

I'm more willing to believe there was a serious hiccup with the storyboarding for EP9 that led to a gunshot wound of all things being excluded, but even that's a stretch😑Censoring the two goons getting killed wouldn't be such a big deal to me if they'd just committed to the guy getting a bullet blown through his hand by ex-military member Tadera Ryuu.
