This smoked salmon sushi recipe combines the delicate flavor of smoked salmon with the classic sushi rice, creating a delicious and elegant sushi roll. It's perfect for sushi lovers looking for a twist on traditional sushi.
Ingredients: 200g sushi rice. 250ml water. 50ml rice vinegar. 20g sugar. 5g salt. 150g smoked salmon. 1 nori seaweed sheet. Soy sauce for dipping. Wasabi paste optional. Pickled ginger optional.
Instructions: Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the cooker's instructions. In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until sugar and salt dissolve. Transfer cooked rice to a large bowl and fold in the vinegar mixture. Let it cool to room temperature. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down. Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the nori sheet, leaving about 1 inch uncovered at the top. Arrange thin slices of smoked salmon along the center of the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, moistening the top edge of the nori sheet with water to seal the roll. Slice the sushi roll into 6-8 pieces using a sharp knife. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi paste, and pickled ginger if desired.
