Clattanoia / Eurobeat Remix
“The answer, where is it now? Seek it out! Where's my soul? Where's my heart? Lost myself in this reality! Don't hesitate - Go this way 'Cause I don't know and I don't care Even if turns from dream to nightmare! I will keep surviving From the darkness I'll emerge, Ah, the pain that left you breathless Comes back with a vengeance In this cold, miserable world!”

My Top 5 Anime Opening Tracks
These are all my opinion, there's no factual statements here!
1. Goya No Machiawase - Hello Sleepwalkers - Opening for Noragami S1
This is the opening for the first season of Noragami, and personally, my favorite. The vocalist has just the right tone to his voice-- it blends well with the mix of electronic and rock instrumentals, especially the somewhat-electronic background vocals. Plus, it fits the anime so well!
The song starts out quiet, but quickly rises to a louder rock feel, and then the vocals begin. A faint blown-speaker filter is thrown over the first lines, but soon the natural voice comes out, singing in a soft rock fashion. There's even more of a filter, before it turns into a soft, kind of quiet tune-- and then it soon turns into something even heavier than before.
2. Red Fraction - Mell - Opening for Black Lagoon
This is a... Strange opening. Not bad, or else it wouldn't be on this list, but strange. There's a lot of so called "Engrish" here, but I find the way the vocalist sings it to be endearing, in a way.
Aside from that-- yet again, the vocals blend so well with the instrumentals, and the visuals of the opening itself as well. This one has a more gritty-electronic feel than the first one, and it does it extremely well, even the autotune on the main vocals sounds great.
It has a mainly electronic beat-- it kind of plays off in the background, shadowed when the vocals come by, but they are deadly important to the track itself. The soft beats and digital strums of the guitar continue for most of the track itself, which could turn out to be a problem in some cases, but it isn't majorly noticeable to where it ruins it. There's even some gentle piano in parts of the song.
3. Clattanoia - OxT - Opening for Overlord S1
There seems to be a bit of a theme with electronic music here...
Clattanoia is another blend of rock/electronic, with even more electronic to it than the last. The rock part is... More digitized, rather than just being raw instruments. A lot of the vocals are digitized this way as well, but the parts where they're raw feel just perfect for that point in the track. It kind of feels like every unfiltered line of vocals is a satisfying climax to something before it starts up again.
This song starts out a little heavy from the start, with a mix of drums and guitar playing a tiny riff before they suddenly stop, and let some vocals play for a solid second. But then, the sounds hit heavy again, just as the vocalist starts a yell, to give it a heavier kick than if they wouldn't be there. Soon after the vocals stop, leaving you to marinate in the beat for a few seconds, before some more vocals come back. This happens a couple times throughout the rest of the songs, but like with the unfiltered vocals, they happen at just the right moments.
4. Resonance - T.M.Revolution - Opening for Soul Eater
While retaining SOME electronic, Resonance probably contains the least amount, with most of it being raw electric or digitized guitar. The vocald are mainly untouched as well, but it wouldn't really seem that way, as his singing is usually backed up with some digitized vocals behind it. Not in all cases, though, such as 1:38 in the track-- you can tell there's no autotune there.
There's almost a sort of choir sound to the instrumentals-- just in the beginning, they sort of sound like a choir letting out a loud 'ahh' sound. This is used a few more times in the track, but most of those times, it sounds more like an old church bell than anything else.
Sometimes, the vocalist gives off an almost joking tone, giving certain parts of the song a playful feel to it. Not entirely sure how, but this works perfectly with it, as well as with the visuals showing in the opening itself at that time. It fits with the anime as well, especially the art style, where it almost feels like a cartoon.
5. Hero's Come Back!! - Nobodyknows+ - Opening for Naruto Shippuden S1
Hero's Come Back!! is a weird one. It's a hip hop song, and from what I've heard, Japanese hip hop gets really weird and, really awesome. This is no exception. While the instrumentals are raw and definitely give off that rap feel, a particular vocalist (there are 4-5) has a digital-ish filter over his voice, and the second is further into that. The third vocalist has a deep, gravelly voice, the fourth has a deep-ish yet average voice, and the fifth has a higher, lighter average voice.
All of them are fairly unique from eachother though, and blend together pretty well. Don't let the 'average' note tell you anything bad, though, as those two vocalists do an amazing job with their lyrics and tones.
There's not much else to say about it, really. The instrumentals stay the same for the majority of the track, and they aren't exactly what you're paying attention to here. It's really more the vastly different and amazing vocals you'll want to focus on. For a weird way to describe it, the instrumentals are a plate, while the vocals are all your favorite foods.
Well, there it is, the list of my favorite anime openings. I'm probably utter garbage at describing them, but you gotta learn somehow.
