UFC 149 takes another loss, Claude Patrick is out against James Head
But at least we have Brian Ebersole to step in.
No offense to Patrick, but WAR HAIRROW.

Claude Patrick vs Brian Ebersole
by Dr. Octagon, J.D.
Round 1-Ebersole shoots for the single and Patrick sprawls, stuffing it nicely. Ebersole pushes Patrick up against the cage. Patrick turns him around. Not much offense. Ebersole pushes Claude against the cage again and Claude lands a nice knee.
Ebersole goes for the takedown and lands in a pretty nice-looking guillotine choke by Patrick. Ebersole is still moving and gets out of it. Fighters are back to their feet. Patrick lands a nice knee from the clinch. Ebersole comes in with the fists and pushes Patrick against the cage again. Lot of standing against the fence for this fight, probably four of the five minutes of the round. Sort of boring. Ebersole won that round.
Round 2-Claude is trying for takedowns, but Ebersole is able to avoid them so far. Patrick lands a nice left in the clinch. Ebersol has Patrick against the cage again and Claude is slapping his head. Ebersole lands a nice elbow and then goes for the shot, pushes Patrick against the cage but more solid takedown defense. Takedown defense against the cage is not the most fun thing in the world to watch.
Fighters break up for a second and are against the cage again. Rosenthal should really break them up. Claude catches an Ebersole's back and then guess what happened? Yeah he pushed Ebersol against the cage again. Jeez. Patrick lands a decent left and follows it up with a glancing uppercut. Ebersol doesn't look bothered.
I don't know who won that round. Claude landed a few more shots, but had his back to the cage for the majority of the round. Rogan thought he won it, but he really didn't do much. I guess I'll give that one to Patrick, but I don't feel good about it.
Round 3-Ebersole shoots, Patrick stuffs it. Patrick goes for a choke and ends up on his back. Patrick gets up, but Ebersole picks him up and slams him down. Nice crucifix position. Patrick gets to his feet, but Ebersole is on his back riding Patrick against the cage. Patrick stands up and they are against the cage again.
I feel like I am watching Sumo right now. Straight up shoving contest. Sucks balls. They go to the ground and Patrick is going for a Kimura. Claude is on top now in the North-South position. Patrick rolls into a choke and Ebersole rolls out of it. Both fighters swinging again. Claude goes for a choke, but ends up with Ebersole on top of him as the round ends.
Brian Ebersole is going to win this one without doing a hell of a lot of damage.
Judges score it 29-28 for Patrick once 29-28 for Ebersole twice. Split decision for Ebersole. Not sure how a judge saw more than round two for Patrick. That fight didn't have a lot of action and the crowd is booing lustily. Not a good fight.
I SERIOUSLY NEED TO FIND A PICTURE OF EBERSOLE'S CHEST HAIR FOR YOU GUYS
This shit has to be seen to be believed, dear lords. I am facepalming.
He's a damn good fighter, I'll give him that, and he's probably going to win here but frankly I am rooting for Patrick just because he isn't Brian Ebersole.
UFC 140 Predictions
UFC 140 already....
Mark Hominick vs. Chan Sung Jung I'm guessing Mark is the home town guy in this one.
Claude Patrick vs. Brian Ebersole I picked Calude for the fact that he could switch his first and last name around and you wouldn't be able to tell. If someone said "Hi I'm Ebersole Brian" you'd tell him to piss off.
Tito Ortiz vs. Antônio Rogério Nogueira Frank Mir vs. Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira In a weird twist it will be discovered that the Nogueira brothers are switching between rounds. One will be hiding under the octagon and between rounds they'll switch to keep fresh. Rogério will have his hand raised at the end of the fight and then Rodrigo will come from under the octagon to join in on the celebration. They will both walk away from the ring together and neither will come back to fight Mir. Mir will get the victory by forfeit. Later both Noguiera's will be DQ'd but I'm picking Rogério because he will have his hand raised by the referee.
Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida I think it will take someone like The Terminator to beat Jon Jones, and the Dragon isn't quite that bad ass.
Granite City beers on the line...
Brian Ebersole vs Claude Patrick, Chan Sung Jung vs Mark Hominick - UFC 140 Preview and Predictions (by SBRForum)
In UFC 140, Brian Ebersole has attracted a good amount of betting action, according to Nick Kalikas, MMA oddsmaker and MMA consultant for DSI Sportsbook, probably based on his new and growing fan base. But that betting action may not be warranted according to Nick and Damon Martin of MMAWeekly.com, who see Claude Patrick as possibly being a bit overlooked and undervalued in this matchup. Mark Hominick is a big favorite over Chan Sung Jung, and the panel of SBRtv guest analysts for UFC 140 see that as likely justified.
