Vejita's tirade on Gohan

You remember the scene where Vejita chews out Gohan for the Dabura fight? For a while, I tended to see it as Vejita showing off to Babidi “I’m acting like a jerk! I’m evil! Majin me!” But I’ve come to another possible reason for his blow up on the kid. As we’ll soon find out, Vejita is going through a midlife crisis. where he is fearing his assimilation to Earth (getting a family, actually finding the primitive planet not a bad place at all) means losing his Saiya-jin past. So getting Majin is reaffirming that past and (or so he wants to believe) severing the ties he feels is harmful. So, with that well-known motivation, his attack on Gohan can be put into perspective. Gohan symbolizes what he doesn’t (or so he believes) want to become. Of course, Vejita being Vejita, he isn’t going to admit his fault in this…until after he gets Majin where he believes he is in a comfort zone to admit his issues and fears, assured that its all in the past, until Goku forces him to acknowledge that he is in denial and that he has changed (although again, he refuses to admit it, hiding his concern to his family within a ‘Kakarrotto is too distracted to fight to his fullest’ excuse). So, this adds to his remorse about Gohan’s 'death.’ He feels responsible for causing it, but he also feels bad for unloading his problems onto Gohan. 

Huh, there's a perspective I never thought too hard about.
