Study on happiness; causes and side effects., Claudio Roncoli
“And every time I thought I'd got it made It seemed the taste was not so sweet” David Bowie Claudio Roncoli is characterized by a restlessness that makes him explore and analyze everything that surrounds him. A year ago, he took the important desition of changing nothing less but his resience country, installing in the USA. This transformation didn’t overlook the artist production, that with this new Project show us that reinventing depends always of the ambition and self-trust. We all look for balance, that conforting ensation of order and control. Balance of life between heaven and earth, material and spiritual, creativity and ordinary life. All our stars must be calculated, nea rus, and not cause that unconfortable sensación of losing what we owe. On this series of paintings, Roncoli leaves behind that impulsive brushwork, expressive, that attacks the printed canvas, to immerse in the world of geometry, ordered and calculator, that helps to construct and reach those aims that men aspire. The hand of the artist now alayze merges and forms. Texture disapears, melting the brushworks in a plain color, that plays in a tidy way with the one next to it. Nothing is left to chance in this compositions. Each chosen icon carry with a different concept, generating a personal, almost spiritual constelation, formed by those things that Roncoli belives essential. The star represents Man in his plain state of light, unicorns transmit that feeling of making the imposible and the cougar, America’s typical animal, symbolizes the internal strength and self power. The crow, besides being the most intelligent bird of all, is according to many legends, the guide that takes souls to another level, while the skull remember us that we are all the same by the end of our lives. For Claudio, triangle has one meaning for each side: being fine with ourselves, with people that surround us, and with the whole world. That is the only way to get balance in life. Music and Pop cultura are also presents referring to balance. Bands such as Daft Punk or Kiss, Star Wars icons, Cocoronco, the artist’s alter’ego, are adapted by him to his own esthetic and visualisation. In this way, the artista orders, repeats and mirrors his priorities, interests and personal stregths and places them in this balanced composition, where everything is where it should be.
