In the Turin province alone there are top-notch ski resorts in Oulx, Claviere, Cesana, Sestriere, Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx and Pragelato, which hosted the alpine events of the Winter Olympics 2006.⁣ ⁣ But hiking trips are pretty popular in Piemonte, too, thanks to the many walking routes that lead to some truly breathtaking scenery, from jagged peaks to gleaming alpine lakes. I'm blessed to be in a region that is veined with valleys!⁣ ⁣ At the end of Val di Susa, a couple of kilometres from Montgenèvre in France, is Claviere. I followed a heart-pounding, lung-bursting hour-long slog up steep paths to capture this sensational shot of the Alps. The weather fortunately held fine for me for most of the day; the short showers weren't enough to dampen my spirits (pardon the pun!).⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ First, take a train from Turin to Oulx on the Torino Porta Nuova–Bardonecchia line.
