I started working on a model sheet for Angus.
Yesterday was the day I uploaded the answer to the last question for my Ask Katz ask blog. I was amazed that I was able to answer so many. There are still a few more questions I wish I had the time to answer. (I'll always remain bitter at the fact that I never got to answer that one question regarding Katz' boss...) I don't know what I'll do with those remaining 4 questions.
I still remember creating the blog a year after I started this one. I was working on a new IP at the time and thought that it would be fun to have the characters answer questions from whoever visited the Ask Katz blog. From the start, it was clear that a few problems would arise. Since the blog was based around a new, original property instead of an already existing franchise, it didn't receive that much attention. Slowly, but surely, however, the blog would reach a sizeable audience and would have new questions sent in periodically.
9 years after its conception, I don't ever regret making it. (I just wish the character designs were better back then.)
What will become of the Ask Katz ask blog now? As I've stated earlier, the blog is finished and won't be updated again. As for Katz and the other characters, this isn't the end for them. If I can get another project out the door, you can be certain that the Battle Cat Squadron will be back to stay.
If you've been visiting the Ask Katz ask blog for all these years, all I can do is thank you for coming along on this long but nearly forgotten ride.
What Artists Are Afraid Of...
This is probably the most scariest thing I've ever drawn. If you don't want to see it, nobody would call you a wuss for leaving right now. But if you really do want to see the piece for yourself, then keep reading.
A scrapped panel from Marzipanland that never made it into the finished comic due to a nasty program crash.
Comic Workshop 2 is a fine game for drawing with. But it becomes a little unstable when it comes to creating unique panel layouts.
Thankfully, I don't face issues like this anymore. Especially with the new coloring method I've learned.
This was a render that I used on my website to promote Marzipanland's release. Aside from fixing up Kuricha's design, I also toyed with image mapping. The speech bubble would bring you to the webpage for Marzipanland.
Here's the line art for Kuricha and the speech bubble before I digitized them.
I should do something like this again to promote other things.
