I made my own clay today in ceramics class. It took literally all class period, but I'm excited to use it because it's a lovely white stoneware (easier to throw in the wheel than porcelain) and it does some fun things with glaze. I'm mainly using it because I have been tasked with making an urn for my aunt's ashes, which is pretty heavy assignment emotionally. I am tired from all the heavy lifting and such, but I'm ready to try out this new clay to use in one of the most meaningful pieces of functional pottery I've ever done.

Doneskis.Well, not fully done, but I was able to trim it down to just the chip (pics tomorrow) and am currently building the base, and it I won't have enough clay to finish, but I'll hopefully buy more clay tomorrow and the base is almost done!
Once I get my own place and a little studio set up, I want to have like a webchat or something with other people so I still get that community feel even though someone's not throwing next to me. That's what I'll miss the most when I'm not at the studio. Having other people to talk to and goof off with (by goof off i mean throw wads of clay on the wall and see how long it takes for them to fall off or who notices them first >_> Ididn'tstartthat).
Kind of like a chatroom but maybe have webcams? Maybe teamspeak? But I don't think it has webcams... I'm not sure what could be used for that. Webcams might end up limiting the number of users. Maybe just voice. Hmmmmm.
