the thing is that they are mirror images. The thing is that their stories play out beat for beat in the exact opposite direction. The thing is that they have everything the other person wants and they are both fucking miserable!!!!

They were both kids who gave everything they had to a man who saved them and made up their whole world, only to die in an attempt to defy them, they had their memory irreversibly warped into someone they never were and who they would have despised post-death, they both clawed their way up from the ground only to find that the world didn’t want them back. Tara wants to be terrifying enough that no one would ever think of hurting her again and Jason wants to be forgiven in spite of everything he's done. do you get it. They would give anything for each others place.
