alright buckle up i conquered this stupid closet. i'd managed to take out a few things over the course of last week so it was much more cluttered but this is me mid-decluttering when i realized i needed to take a pic bc this was going to be drastic.
i decided to use the shitty plastic drawers i had to store things i don't use often, so like sweatpants, sweatshirts, and jeans. with the intention of hanging up the shirts i'd had in there. i started this process thinking "i've purged my clothes multiple times, i don't think i have that much left to get rid of" then a trash bag full of my clothes manifested out of thin air, ready to be donated. i don't know where it keeps coming from.
i got rid of the really cheap shitty shoe rack shoved in the back and moved my clothes rack out to act as a sort holding area for stuff i plan to wear soon or decided to hang dry. i also repurposed the metal organizer that was outside my closet to hold all my shoes.
i was able to fit two comforters (one queen one full) and two sets of sheets, plus four pillows in this stupidly large fabric container. i didn't realize how large it was when i bought it. i think it's funny. it’s not perfect but it keeps all my not-using-for-a-while linens contained and dust-free
and here’s the final product!! an important note is that i not only got rid of clothes but organized my hanging shirts into casual tees (right) and slightly nicer t-shirts and button-downs, nicer long-sleeved shirts, and outerwear/thicker longsleeved shirts i sometimes use as jackets.
i also marie-kondo’d my sock drawer and casual shorts/pants drawers. doing this plus donating some stuff freed up a whole drawer! which i may move some more pants into
anyway. my body hurts but my soul is at peace. i don’t have any edibles anymore so im popping my last percocet for 4/20 peace and love on planet my closet
