I felt disappointed after today, feeling like I did nothing, but in reality the change is really big, my shelves and shit still have piles on them but my main goal was getting /most/ of the stuff off of the floor, Venus was so happy with the new space, I'll keep updating

It took six 20/10s but the room looks like a proper room now! I need to get my hands on a carpet cleaner but that’s something that can be done another day. I’m beyond proud of myself for the progress I made today. I’m so glad I picked up UfYH earlier this month.

I was still tired today but managed to get through work. And I cleaned off my desk so yay! Found a $20 Red Lobster gift card and over $125 in Target gift cards. Also found $250 in cash so that was really nice.

Have to pick up my dad from dialysis tomorrow afternoon. I really don't understand why they don't just call an Uber. It's less than $10. Were going to spend way more than that on gas and travel time. Oh well.

I haven't been taking before and after pics because I'm so pressed for time, I'm cleaning before my building manager comes by to check the smoke alarms tomorrow, but I can now completely close my bedroom door, and fully open my front door. And my kitchen is about 3/4 clean (the 1/4 left is hidden from the door, so he'd only see it if he specifically went into the kitchen. My bathroom is spotless.

The living room and my bedroom are still a cluttered mess, but I'm hoping that I can get it all to a point that I can easily pass off as being in the middle of reorganizing and having to bring stuff over here when my parents moved

I also have minimal DOOM boxes. That's been my back up plan, anything that I don't know what to do with but I recognize needs to be taken out of the way goes in a box and then down to my storage locker. This is not a good plan, I know that. But I have told multiple people this plan, people who I both trust to and allow to bother me about that sort of thing. So far I have 2 of them, and probably will have at least 1 more by the time I'm done tonight, probably 2.

I have been getting this advice for over a year, to designate the space that I need to clean as 'zones'. It finally clicked last night when I was looking at my room, that if I classified hanging up my coats and putting away my clothes as one zone, I could spend about 5 minutes on that and it would make a measurable difference. And it did! So then I separated the rest of my room into four more zones, each one is 3 ft by 3 ft. Roughly. I got two more of them done last night. Now I can walk into my home without being impeded or having to move my body in a weird twisty way, and I can also walk into my bathroom the same way!

It's giving me motivation to finish the last two (for now, because I'll definitely need to go in and do it again to more degrees). But then I have space to do other things that I need to do today, like meal prep and vacuuming, and giving my dog a bath.

There is progress, no?!?  I mean the iMac box moved to the right... 🥴 The truth is that we’re both very busy with work so we only allocate like an hour or so in the evening for putting the things back. Also, the wall that got renovated needed some adjustments, so some things can’t actually be put back yet. Sooooo here we are.
