Conservation & Devastation: Two Areas In Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Both of these images are edits from Google Earth 360 photos. I was exploring on Google Earth, which is a favorite activity of mine, when I came across these two photos from different parts of Central Borneo known in Indonesia as Kalimantan Tengah. One was taken from a small leafy compound on a hillside or mountain side and looks out over the rainforest and the river in the valley. The other photo is a dystopian landscape left after clear cutting the rainforest and leaving nothing but barren landscape. This is why we need too put pressure on all nations to stop illegal and quasi legal activities that result in the destruction of habitat and nation that consume the products produced from logging and palm oil plantations need to stop buying products made with palm oil and stop buying the lumber that comes from rainforest destruction. What happens when you destroy the rainforest is a lot more then the loss of a beautiful landscape but also the loss of habitat for all the plants, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and indigenous people who have been living sustainable lives in the rainforest for a very, very long time. • • • The first Google Earth 360 photo was taken by Bugar Henoch Munadar and the second photo was taken by John Nayler. • • • #Indonesia #Kalimantan #Borneo #KalimantanTengah #Logging #IllegalLogging #PembalakanLiar #YangJelasDipotongPenebangan #ClearCutLogging #PalmOilPlantations #PerkebunanKelapaSawit #SaveTheRainforest #MenyelamatkanHutanHujan #WildlifeConservation #PelestarianSatwaLiar
