I want to write and listen to music. Pity that my headphones seem to be broke. I'm sure Jasper has no clue how that happened.

I want to write and listen to music. Pity that my headphones seem to be broke. I'm sure Jasper has no clue how that happened.
Kids on Tiktok are lip synching a song I wrote.
I think this is what success feels like.
These folks are a hidden gem I just discovered in my quest for new things! Meet “Clearly Guilty,” a clever geek trio from Kansas City. Great harmonies for a sad, sad subject.
Clearly Guilty
assorted artwork for Clearly Guilty
Clearly Guilty is an awesome filk band that performs at comic conventions and renaissance festivals around the midwest. They are good friends of mine and their music is absolutely hilarious. They commissioned me to create their logo (first picture). The die i designed to be any color they wanted, so I thought it’d be funny to demonstrate that to them by putting Vesper’s face in it. This is my first major piece of digital art so I’m really proud of how it turned out.
As for the perler bead fern...it was a surprise gift. There’s a running gag where they mention ferns in a lot of their songs even when it makes no sense. I believe it started as a joke in their “Supernatural” song “Salt and Burn” where they pretend to run out of words that rhyme with burn and decide to “sing about that fern”. So I gave them a fern to point at. It’s in perler beads so it has a nice, geeky, 8-bit look to it. The pot is decorated to various references to their songs, including another one that mentions ferns (and a personal favorite) “Life on the Deathstar”
I’m imperial soldier number 235 this is my daily log: today I blew up a planet, then I watered my fern, and then I went for a jog.
The big spray painted canvas was actually a set piece I made to be a backdrop for my short-lived Star Wars news segment I did for a small geek news website. It was inspired by their song “Sunset on Alderaan”, a hilarious song about a couple on a date during Alderaan’s last day of existence. Kinda dark humor.
The photo is of the group playing at Central Missouri Renaissance Festival with the fern on display as they sing. From left to right we have Vesper, Rowena, and Horatio. (Stage names). I believe they are singing “Salt and Burn” in this picture.
Anyway, these folks are awesome and their music is hilarious. I’m glad to know them.
Playing at a convention this weekend with the band. Rocking some new earrings. =)
Jeremy’s Ravenclaw Shoes
Navy hi-top converse
Once again, a Harry Potter commission that I really wanted to keep. Jeremy is incredibly lucky that his feet are a ton bigger than my own.
(Not shown, the little doodle of a snake his girlfriend asked me to hide on the inside of the tongue. Jeremy considers himself a Ravenclaw like me but when he took the Pottermore test he came out Slytherin and we’ve been giving him a hard time for it since.)
Jeremy is a member of Cleary Guilty, a fantastic filk band. You really ought to check them out. Relevant song: Neville’s Anthem.

Clearly Guilty Shoes [3/3]
Horatio’s “Dresden Files”/”Harry Potter” Shoes
Black hi-top Converse
Clearly Guilty are seriously the best nerd-band ever. And I’m not just saying that because they’re good friends of mine. Do yourself a favor and check out their website. For their shoes they each got a mashup of two of their favorite geek fandoms. On the tongues I did their 8-bit Sprite from the band’s logo as well as their stage name.
Horatio plays guitar, does vocals and songwriting for the band. He’s funny and nerdy and great and the butt of most of the jokes. For his shoes he wanted Harry Potter and Harry Dresden to share space. Here we have the titular characters casting magic. We also have Mouse growling at the horcruxes while Hagrid looks on lovingly, and Bob “helping” Hermione (actually, he’s reading a trashy romance novel.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED ME WITH THE HARRY DRESDEN STUFF: @unseelieaccords @saxonsfierytemper @lyrslair @fearfirefaeries and @wordsofamadman
Relevant “Clearly Guilty” song: “Neville’s Anthem”
