I never meant to cause you trouble.
She watched him closely, taking in his features. The pools of blue that made up his eyes. The way he talked to her and told her things that gave her the feeling of being almost a..well..a real person. But how do you tell him? That you've fallen in love. With your best friend?
Xion sighed, blinking a few times as she entered back to reality. Her heart pounded in her chest at a fast rate. Butterflies made their home in her stomach. It was that four letter word that started with an L. No doubt that it was L-O-V-E. Xion never thought she could feel it. But something was there, hiding on the inside. She wanted him deeply. Needed him, like a child needs his mother. His name was Roxas, and he was as truly a wonder.
"Hey," Xion murmured to Roxas. She took a seat next to him on the edge of the clock tower and smiled. It felt like just another sunset. But something still felt different to Xion. "Hey Xion!" Roxas turned to the side and returned Xion's smile with his own. Xion directed her eyes to his gloved hands, which held two sea salt ice creams. Roxas noticed her looking at the treat and chuckled. "You've done great the past few days. I think you deserve a reward, Xion." He then handed her a sea salt ice cream. "You didn't have to" Xion said, hoping that it didn't sound like she wasn't thankful for all Roxas had done for her. "But I couldn't say no to ice cream!" She took the reward from Roxas and started to bring the salty ice cream up to her lips.
Only then did Xion remember what she was supposed to do. Her mission to finally tell Roxas what she felt. 'Idiot!' Xion mentally kicked herself for forgetting such an important piece to the puzzle. She continued to silently eat her ice cream. Her face was ignited with a deep red blush. Xion couldn't feel more unprepared. She quickly sneaked in a deep breath faced herself towards Roxas.
"I've been keeping something from you," Xion blurted out. She felt like a big mess from the inside out. Xion could only hope her face wasn't as red as it felt. "Roxas, I.." She choked on her words. "I.." She tried to say it once more. But even with all of her strength, Xion just couldn't say it. She tried once more, almost close to tears.
"Roxas, I-I..I think I've fallen in love with you!" Xion started to burst into tears. Stress and regret boiled up inside. "I'm so sorry," she whispered. Xion looked up at Roxas. His eyes widened, but somehow he seemed almost a little..happy. "Please, don't cry. It's okay!" Roxas scooted over towards Xion, gentry wrapping his arms around her fragile body.
"Because I think I've fallen in love with you, too."
