to close this enormous spiel, the section where George mourns the possibility of a second term in coalition made me quite sad. It reminded me of this excerpt from [if I’m remembering correctly] Coalition by David Laws

…ouch #doomedyaoi. it deflates me to think just how keen George became of Nick and the other LD ministers, and how he formed genuine relationships with them. Time and time again, we see George suggesting smart, political choices which Cameron is reluctant to go with because he’s fearful it could dissatisfy the party. David is a chancer this way. George tends to eventually follow David and ultimately agree with him in so many of these situations, resulting in the fall of the Conservative party, some could say the fall of the country
