Due to some recent theme week discourse in the South Park fandom, I’d like to make a statement for clarity and transparency purposes.

Clenny Week is open to everyone to and I will not censor people’s creativity. This means that safe for work as well as not safe for work content is allowed, as long as it remains within Tumblr’s TOS (i.e. I won’t reblog NSFW art because I don’t want the blog to be flagged, BUT if you do choose to make NSFW art on another platform, I will reblog a link with proper warnings and tags).

In my opinion, as mod, policing people’s content and creativity is detrimental to fandom culture and betrays the idea of transformative works. Also, let’s be real, this ship is too darn small and rare to be turning away fan content. We’ve gotta cultivate the Clenny!

Now given that both SFW and NSFW content is allowed and encouraged, I expect people to be smart about the content they consume. I, as mod, will tag what I reblog to the best of my ability. I urge writers to tag their fics as best as possible, or if a fic has chosen to not give warnings, I will do my best to make it clear that you are reading at your own risk.

I am an adult, but I know that there are teenage minors in the fandom, and most likely there are minors who follow this blog. I am happy to have you! However, I’m not your parent or your teacher, so I’m not going to tell you what and whatnot to read. I’m going to treat you like the young adults you’re becoming and let you use your own judgement. You might make mistakes and read something you end up not liking, but then you learn from the mistake. Or you’ve been in fandom for years already and you’ve cultivated a system that works for you - I trust you to know you way better than anyone else does!

So the TL;DR take away is this: SFW and NSFW content is allowed in Clenny Week. All are welcome. I promise to do my best when tagging reblogs, and I trust that you will do what you need to curate your own fandom experience.

Please feel free to unfollow this blog if this makes you uncomfortable. I’ll be sad to see you go, but I’ll understand. Again, I trust people to be able to curate their own fandom experience, and sometimes that means unfollowing people when something doesn’t sit well with you. In the meantime, I’m thinking up themes for Clenny Week 2020, and I hope to have the dates soon!
