For those who don't know, I've been thinking and planning a Lightlark fan-rewrite for months, and I've been having a REALLY rough time figuring out what exactly to do with Azul (basically because he was just created to be the token representation points character). I also don't want to just erase him, but I really have no clue.

If any of yall have any ideas, please comment them (TT_TT)

For now, I will share my ideas for powers and curses for each of the characters, ranging them from most similar to their canon counterparts to least similar.

For context: The regents have their communities elemental powers, as well as specific powers connected to their bloodline

Oro: Midas Touch and Fire Manipulation, cursed to burn under the light of the sun

Celeste: Astrological Divination and Light Manipulation, Cursed to die at 25.

Grimm: Shadow Mimicry (turn himself into shadows) and Shadow Manipulation, Cursed to meld with the shadows if he uses his powers for too long

Cleo: Hypnos (put people to sleep) and Water Manipulation, Cursed to drown during the next full moon

Isla: Strong Understanding of Nature (which may represent itself as animal languages, potionology or magical botany, depends on the individual) and Plant Manipulation, Cursed to become a heart eating beast if she feels too many emotions

This was a rough overview, so if yall have any doubts ask and I'll explain. Thank you so much!!!

The Beast (4-15-23)

In the dimness of the room, Cleo spotted a pair of golden eyes. She heard heavy scuffling, and the enormous, golden-scaled, furred and feathered bestial form of Oro Ignis, the king of Lightlark, ruler of the Sunlings.

The curse he suffered under was cruel. By night, Oro took the form of a man, possessing pointed ears, and the claws and sharp teeth of the beast form he took on during the day.

The beast was immense, a mix of bird, beast and dragon covered in gilded feathers, golden scales and fur. His front paws were massive and bear-like as he padded over to her, claws clicking against the floor.

His back paws were like the talons of a dragon, his long tail covered in scales and tufted with feathers, all in different hues of gold. The beast looked at her with unreadable gold eyes.

The face of the beast was a mix of lupine and reptilian, with a thick mane of feathers crowning his head, but there was no mistaking the golden eyes.

Oro and Cleo are my favorite characters in the dumpster fire that is Lightlark.

Get him and Cleo out of Lightlark! They are the Sun and Moon, so I am shipping them.

Something (4-26-23)

Deep in sleep, Oro tossed and turned, tangling the blankets around him. He had been having the same dream for days. It was always the same...

She was spun from the moon itself, white hair long and unbound, gossamer tresses gleaming like polished quartz.

The sun and the moon, spinning in a grove, dancing amongst the night-kissed trees. She would suddenly let go of his clawed hands, silver eyes shining with playfulness and mirth.

"Chase me." She would say, face tinted pink, taking his hands in her own once more. "Hunt me across the grove." Her lips would move in a small, sly smile. "Catch me..." She released his hands again, moving backwards, graceful as a swan in flight. A low growl left him as he prowled forward, footsteps making no sound on the moss-blanketed earth. Her eyes gleamed with challenge, and she whirled, almost seeming to catch flight with the speed of her running.

He raced after her, not noticing he had shifted somewhat, going down on all fours. The grove was alive with scents, yet the smell of her, of lavender and vanilla, pulled him towards her. His pace quickened.

He shed the form of the man, welcoming the monster. Bird, beast and dragon, the massive form moving on soundless feet, the moonlight shining off of his gilded fur and feathers, the golden scales. He presued her, the beast wanting nothing more than her sweet scent on him, surrounding him.

A triumphant snarl left him as he cornered her. She watched, under lidded, glowing eyes as he slowly took on the form of the man. He stalked towards her, eyes ablaze with hunger. Slowly, she tilted her head upwards, the moonlight catching the beauty of her face as he stood before her, towering, imposing.

Soft, glowing silver eyes met fiery golden ones as he looped an arm around her waist, nose nuzzling against the pale column of her throat, inhaling her wondrous scent. The beast in him rose to the surface, and he shifted again, caging her between his immense front paws. Slowly, lovingly, the pair moved towards the earth, as her slender, pale hands tangled themselves in his pelt.

"I've caught you." He rumbled, in the guttural voice of the monster. She smiled, continuing to pet him, drawing a purr from him.

"You have." Her voice, clear as a bell answered back. She looked over his immense form, rising up to kiss him on the snout. "Are you ready?" The moon and sun would now become one, in the star-kissed, night-drenched grove. The beast growled softly in approval, tail thumping against the ground in impatience.

Oro always awoke before it happened. Drenched in sweat, body tingling in arousal and excitement, the Sunling would prepare for the night, the beast in him wanting the dream to become reality. Wanting something from the dream to cling to.
