suggestion: instead of assuming, i think it would generally be more helpful to ask what someone means when they say they have a neutral stance instead of assuming, as your definition is not universal and you may have allies that just label themselves differently from you.
the 15th is done.
In retrospect when given control of the body mostly choosing to engage in staying perfectly still until moved was not a terribly human thing to do
whether or not singlet is a slur entirely depends on how you define what a slur is.
the most basic definition, is that it is an insulting remark. do some systems use the word singlet as an insulting remark? absolutely. we find it really weird actually, insulting and othering singlets in the way some systems do. being a system isn't inherently better than being a singlet. and even if we are just looking at trauma reactions, someone being a singlet doesn't mean that their trauma was inherently not as bad. they just didn't react in the way that would result in a complex dissociative disorder and being a system.
however, back to the slur part. words have more definitions than just the basic definition. for the social definition of a slur, at least in the usa, the majority associate it with an unequal power dynamic of the majority versus the oppressed minority. the n slur, f slur, t slur, h slur, r slur, and so on.
under this definition, singlet is not a slur. the majority of people are singlets. society defines the only way of being sane as being a singlet, and so systems are oppressed by said sanism at the very least.
in conclusion: if you solely define a slur as an insulting remark, then singlet can be and has been used as a slur. however if you are including the common (in the usa) social definition that relies on the context of groups being in unequal power dynamics, then singlet is not a slur.
however. some systems treat singlets very weirdly. and that can and does lead to anti final fusion sentiment and social rejection of systems, multiples, or plurals, that could be considered close to being a singlet or are being a singlet.
if this asshole of a medication dispenser could call me back. so that he could refill the medication that makes our brain work better and so that we could get an appointment in to talk about these incredibly distressing nightmares. that would be just nice. that would be lovely. i shouldn't have to be worried about whether or not i have to ask my therapist to email him so that he actually contacts me and does his fucking job.
the immense pains of living in quite the rural area. can't fire him because he's the only guy around. pain.
It’s not fakeclaiming, it’s just pointing out how you switch to whichever origin you want to defend.
okay. your premise is flawed then. we aren't switching origins. we are traumagenic, paragenic, and willogenic. all at once. paragenic and willogenic are considered to be under the endogenic spectrum. so then, traumaendo would be a fitting label for us.
in terms of defense, we have not seen any anti-traumagenic sentiment so we have no reason to make a syscourse post about it. however, we have seen sentiment against endogenics and willogenics, as well as traumaendos.
we have seen misinformation that DID can be caused by things other than trauma. that is why we reblog posts correcting that information by people who cite medical literature and research.
the traumagenic origin that we have is solely related to our DID. however in terms of the system, origins other than traumagenic fit us.
in conclusion: we have multiple origins for our system. we reblog posts correcting misinformation about complex dissociative disorders. we haven't made a post defending traumagenic only systems specifically because we haven't felt a need for it. we have made posts defending endogenics, created systems, and traumaendos, because we have felt a need for it.
A bit of a heads up for the next confession: it contains the word delusional (op calling themselves it) which if I'm not mistaken can have ableist connotations. I have decided to keep the confession as 1 op obviously doesn't mean to offend anyone and I don't know whether they can reclaim the word and 2 this word is popular in internet lingo and other meanings can slip unnoticed. Please take care. As always, please do let me know if I forget or misuse tags.
