If they aren't together yet, then it's all blushes and nervous clarifications that they're "just friends" while both are watching the other's reaction closely.
If they're secretly together, then they deny everything while keeping the most neutral expressions possible (this fools absolutely no one).
If they're not hiding their relationship, they both pretend to be offended that people think they're together in the most exaggerated fashion. Maybe they even try to egg each other on to see how over the top they can be!
