i have a couple of headcanon/speculation posts i’m drafting (specifically about ascension to the fleet/generation gaps in troll culture, and the heiress’ challenge) and i was going to link a few fics that relate to what i’m talking about. and then i realized that the fics i’m referencing are from the 2012 to 2015 era and i had to be like “wow. that was in fact a while ago huh”

i do read newer fics! just most of them don’t have the kind of world building i’m used to from 8+ years ago, and if they do it’s either super au or in the hvswp specific sandbox

for a fun change of pace this fantasy au now features gamkar as “part-bitter part-awkward ex’s who avoid each other because every conversation turns into an argument; but also they’re older now, and have been through a lot of shit on their own, and maybe they’re finally ready to face the worst parts of themselves & each other that caused them to break up when they were dumb fucked up teenagers; and maybe they’re willing to try because they never really stopped loving each other”
