Day 112 - Cliff Cave Park Bike Ride
Today I rode 20.66 miles at Cliff Cave Park -- in just a little over an hour and a half. I haven't done a 20 mile bike ride in many, many years!
My Giant Yukon mountain bike will be 19 years old this summer. I might need to buy a road bike soon. (Or maybe a comfort bike...though I wonder if that would actually inhibit my pushing ability on rides?)
It was a bit chilly today...but I survived by keeping my body moving!
Cliff Cave hugs the Mississippi River - nice view of Illinois...and the barge traffic.
The 5 mile (lollipop) loop trail is in a flood plain...so it's pretty flat.
I think I need to buy a new lid. This helmet is 18 years old!
These yellow flowers are EVERYWHERE along the path!
Route...(I've probably mentioned this before, but the trail looks like a sword or a knife!)
Stats...
I was averaging over 14 miles an hour for the 12-14 miles...but I faded on the last few laps. The head-wind was making things a bit challenging!
