Cliff Emmich in the 1980s

Most of Cliff Emmich's jobs in the 1980s mostly came from guest appearances on TV shows and appearing in TV movies. In the above photos he guest-starred on 2 episodes of CHiPs in 1980 and 1983.

Emmich did appear in Halloween II in 1981. You may remember the Hospital's night security guard.

Cliff was on an episode of Falcon Crest in 1982.

Cliff also guested on TV show Bret Maverick in 1982. I was hoping for another bathtub scene in the show but I'm just happy he was in it.

Cliff Emmich also made appearances in The Incredible Hulk, Matt Houston and Trapper John, MD in the early 1980s.

He appeared in the movie Hellhole in 1985.

As well as an episode of Knight Rider.

And he appeared in comedy/horror movie Return to Horror High as the cameraman in 1987.

And episodes of Hunter, 227 and Night Court. That is probably his own belt buckle he is wearing in Night Court. It looks to be the same one he wore in Return to Horror High.

Cliff Emmich in the 1970s (3 of 3 sets)

In the above photo, Cliff Emmich plays a ruthless kidnapper named Moo-Moo in Starsky and Hutch, episode 2;15, entitled The Psychic in 1977.

Cliff Emmich guest-stars in 1977 episode 2;1 of Charlie's Angels, entitled Angels in Paradise, set in Hawaii. This is Cheryl Ladd's first show. Cliff plays other guest-star, Art Metrano's henchman.

This photo is from the 1978 film Stingray. I know little about it, other than it stars Robert Mitchum's son Chris Mitchum and Cliff played one of the people after the Corvette Stingray.

Here is Cliff Emmich in episode 5;4 of Little House on the Prairie in 1978. It featured this one before too. I do appreciate when my favorite actors appear as guest stars on TV dramas because TV back then was less concerned about the art of film. They concentrated on the telling a story, not camera angles and shadows. This one was a tear-jerker and Cliff got plenty of close-ups. Tears up again. It may be me and my age, but today's CGI enhanced programs make acting and directing less impressive because I know they can CGI anything they want in the editting room.

Cliff Emmich in the 1970's (Bonus)

Okay, I f'd up.

Here is Cliff Emmich in 1979. He guest-starred on Happy Days in episodes 6;22 & 6;23 and Fantasy Island, episode 2;24 in the bowling fantasy of Al Molinaro. And he was in episode 2;5 of Greatest Heroes of the Bible. I never heard of it, but it did produce 17 episodes over 2 seasons. I suspect it was a syndicated program.

Cliff Emmich in the 1970s (2 of 3 sets)

Above 7 photos are Cliff Emmich playing a remorseful bad guy in the 1974 episode 1;12 of Police Woman starring Angie Dickinson, entitled The Cradle Robbers. You can tell he is remorseful by the tear in his eye. He is teamed with Arlene Golonka, most remembered for Mayberry RFD. This is the 1st of the 3 appearances he will make in this TV series, each as different characters. I like when my favorite fat actors guest star in TV shows. They get so much more screen time and close-ups than in motion pictures. (I featured stills from this show a few years ago, so I included some photos I didn't show before.)

The above 5 photos are of Cliff Emmich in episode 5;13 of The Odd Couple pictured with Tony Randall playing Felix's cousin who is backing out of Felix's plan to make him the model for a new diet pill.

The above photo is from the 1975 film Rafferty and the Gold Dust Twins starring Alan Arkin and Sally Kellerman. Cliff plays a used car salesman and the film quality I watched wasn't very good and Cliff was often photographed in heavy shadow throughout his scenes.

The above photo is the 1975 film Aloha, Bobby and Rose starring Paul LeMat. His character is listed as "Bird Brain". I don't recall much about the film, but I think he was in a club with lodge members being loud and dumb.

The 2 photos above are from the 1975 tv movie Shell Game starring John Davidson and Joan Van Ark. Cliff played one of the swindled poker players.

The 6 photos above are from episode 2;14 of Police Woman in 1975, entitled The Hit. Here Cliff Emmich plays a bad guy who is the target of the hit and needs Police protection.

The photo above is from the film Jackson County Jail in 1976, starring Yvette Mimieux. Cliff plays the first of Yvette Mimieux's antagonists in this film.

The above 3 photos are Cliff's final appearance in Police Woman. Episode 3;18, entitled Shark. This time playing a higher level criminal. And is that Cliff doing the stunt?

In 3 photos above, Cliff Emmich plays an operator of a crooked Casino on wheels in the 1978 episode 1;20 of CHiPs.

Cliff Emmich in the 1970's (1 of 3 sets).

Cliff Emmich was born in Cincinnati, OH in 1936. His first film role was as an extra in the 1969 film by Norman Jewison, Gaily, Gaily. His first credited role didn't come until 1971 in a very small role in a TV movie, The Feminist and the Fuzz, starring Barbara Eden. He gained 50 film role credits throughout the 1970's, getting more and more substantial roles on TV and Movies.

Photo 1 is from Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (because I didn't want the lead photo to be the next one.

Photos 2 and 3 are as an extra in Top of the Heap in 1972.

Photos 4 - 7 are from a small role in Girls on the Road in 1972, starring Michael Ontkean and Kathleen Cody.

Photos 8 and 9 are from The Odd Couple 3;15 in 1973, pictured with Penny Marshall as Myrna.

Photos 10 - 14 are from the film Invasion of the Bee Girls in 1973 with William Smith and Cliff Osmond.

Photos 15 - 19 are also from The Odd Couple, 5;13, pictured with Tony Randall and John Byner, as Felix's cousin in 1974.

Photos 20 - 30 are from the film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot in 1974, starring Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges.
