Somewhere along the cliffs of Tianmen Mountain, a quiet walkway clings to the rock at 1500 meters above sea level. I kept wondering how they anchored the first beam. Men hanging on ropes, I assume. The more I stared, the more I was perplexed. And yes, I crossed this walkway to get to the other side. To say this simple architecture and engineering is a miraculous feat is an understatement.
