Dark Horse Bouldering Series: Round 1

I just registered for Round 1 of the Dark Horse Bouldering Series in Essex, VT!! I’m so excited to be climbing against a whole spectrum of climbers, hopefully there will be some famous climbers there! Any of my followers going to the comp?

2nd Place for the Men’s Advanced category at the rope climbing competition tonight! It was my best finish in a comp yet, and it was on ropes! Guess this boulderer can learn new tricks!  Thanks to Scott and Skinny at TRC Morrisville for throwing a great Comp guys!!!!

So I learned from the route setter that the problem I was working on (and kept falling off the finish move) was supposedly a V9+ and that is super exciting.  I had every move completely controlled and locked in but the finish move was a huge throw to the lip of the boulder. Left hand in a hueco, right hand real low on a deep crimp, right foot less than a foot below that hand, no left foot, 45 degree wall. I hit the top of the wall six times but had too much momentum to stick it. I think my core gave out so I need to work on that. Also, I think I need to work on big throws...

BUT. My goal for 2016 is to send a V10 so it looks like I’m doing well!!! :D

When I was climbing one of the problems at the comp yesterday I noticed one of the rec staff members taking pictures. I hope they put all the pictures up somewhere soon. I'd like to see them.
