Continued journey with differin and clindoxyl

Hey so I waited a week in between the first use and now. this time it worked out just fine no more itching or burning, so that was good. I’ve been using both creams daily for about a week and I’ve noticed its bringing some pimples out from deep down I guess this is the initial breakout everyone talks about 😔 hopefully this won’t last long it’s mostly on my jaw line and chin but it’s the painful kinda bumps. I’ve also noticed my usually oily skin is dry and flakey unless I exfoliate daily. I use my Olay spinning brush and an Olay exfoliating wash I also do face masks every other day. My face seems pretty happy with what I’ve been doing generally it’s working out 😀 My daily face routine: Wake up wash my face with just water Toner is a either Clinique clarifying lotion or Thayers rose petal witch hazel with Aloe Vera lotion. Marcelle eye cream Clinique gel lotion 10 minutes later Clindoxyl gel 20 minutes later Pure Aloe Vera Gel Proceed with my usual makeup routine (which is way less than ever before)

Night time routine:

Remove my eye makeup with Delon oil free makeup remover Delon micellar solution to remove the rest of my makeup Wash my face with La Roche-Posay effaclar purifying foaming gel. Use my Olay spinning brush with tea tree face wash (The body shop) Tea tree skin clearing toner (The body shop) Marcelle gene youth serum Marcelle gene youth night care (lotion) Marcelle eye cream 20 minutes later (because ^ is so thick) Differin gel 10 minutes later Pure Aloe Vera Gel That’s my daily routine 😃😃😃

Recently went to docs for something to help the little bit of acne I get. I was prescribed differin and clindoxayl both pretty strong drugs. The first night I put both on my face and when I woke up in the morning my face was bright bright red, itchy, tight, and burning! It was horrible!! Well I read the tubes and I was supposed to put on the differin at night and the clindoxayl in the morning 😜😜 boy was my face red when I read that lol so I took 2 days off and now and on day 5 I'm starting to slowly introduce it to my ultra sensitive skin. My skin is still red and flakey but it's no longer so sunburned looking and sore it's still pretty red but it's smooth feeling under the dry flaking skin.

HOW I KEEP ACNE AWAY!

1. Tea Tree Oil (The Body Shop $9)

Tea Tree Oil is a natural essential oil that acts as an anti-disinfectant for skin, with drying properties that help fight acne.

PRO: I can literally say I put some of this after my skincare regime at night and the next morning, my acne is flattened and redness is gone. To me, I consider it a little bottle of miracle

CON: Maybe working too well is also a bad thing. Tea tree oil makes my skin extremely dry the next morning. Especially during the winter so I limit my use to once a day and make sure to properly moisturize my skin. It also has a strong smell that some people may not be able to stand.

OVERALL: 9/10*

2. Clindoxyl Gel: This is a prescribed benzoyl peroxide gel I use this religiously every night after cleansing.

PRO: I won't say its a miracle worker that zaps acne and pimples away instantly, but within 1-2 days normal acne goes away. For bigger ones it tends to take awhile but it helps the swelling go away and fights redness as well.

CON: It does contain methylparaben as a preservative, but I haven't found another acne gel that works effectively in combating my acne. It also has an expiration date of 2 months once it is taken out of the freezer from the pharmacist. Lastly it slightly bleached my pillow a little white since benzoyl peroxide is prone to bleaching.

OVERALL: 8.5/10*

Everyone's skin is different but this works for me.
