Anyone have any methods to help get through the purge period when using differin gel?

My skin is in patches dry, red, and flakey. Even using my normal face products burns a little (the most I can do anymore is my gentle face wash and moisturizer. No toner and nothing with salicylic acid)

It feels like we’re in a universal retinoid era. I started using retinoids in November 2022 and now every routine I’m seeing, everyone’s talking about what products they use while they’re on their retinoid.
