Clinic Feature Francine Elena
Clinic, a London-based poetry art and music collective, are pretty much responsible for Neutral Norway's birth into the world all those years ago (4 if you're wondering). They're really good at posting interesting things on their blog, holding inter-disciplinary events and generally being really cool but ACTUALLY cool rather than just being cool and not being talented. By this I mean they provide a platform for high quality creativity, and their publications are beauty incarnated, if books can be classed as living which I think they can. One of these days I hope to actually get to a Clinic event. Today they posted one of Francine Elena's poems which I loved, called Kinder Egg. I've been kind of obsessed myself with the notion of the the ova; one of my poems in the new Neutral Norway collection is loosely based around the birth of Helen of Troy, appearing fully-grown from an egg made of sea sperm; / water, white, pink, red / the foam of the waves / harden to become the shell of the egg / .
