We have chronic knee pain. Mostly in our right knee but also in our left as well but not as often. Pain in our left knee is a lot rarer. Thankfully. It still sucks. We're considering the possibility of needing a cane and/or knee brace.. what worries me a lot is that when our leg 'falls asleep' specifically our right leg- it goes completely numb. Zero feeling. Heavy. Unable to move it. Like at all. To actually move it we have to physically pick it up with our hands and position it the way we want. If we try to get up and stand on it we'll collapse. It usually takes like 10-30 minutes for it to start getting feeling back in it but we have to wait until it's completely back to even try walking. Not so much in our left leg though. We usually have some feeling in that when it falls asleep, I don't think it's ever actually been completely numb. We are looking into making an appointment with a doctor to have it checked out. I don't know exactly when it'll be though. Perhaps I'm worrying too much. It could be nothing. I do know that we've had this chronic pain since around middle school as we're told we've been complaining about bad knees since around that time.

TW: Fire mention, thoughts of burning self/others.
Aughh what even is this?
Can't cook because of the overwhelming anxiety/fear that I will somehow burn either myself, someone else, or the house.. I can use a microwave just fine, I'm iffy on the air fryer though.. I get worried I'll burn myself but I can actually use it. The stove? I can't. I just. I can't. I'll try- I'll work up the courage to cook something on the stove and then.. the anxiety comes. I pace around a bit, think about it, sometimes seek reassurance online from friends- but it doesn't help. So I just put it in the microwave or air fryer if possible, find something else to eat or just not eat at all. I hate going to bonfires as well. The fear of getting burned is just- huge for some reason. If I do go to one- which is extremely rare mind you- I'm as far away from the fire pit as I possibly can while still being able to feel the warmth of the fire and if it gets too cold? I don't get any closer. I deal with it. I hate fireworks too.. yeah they're pretty but for some reason I can't get the thought of the ambers falling and burning me out of my head when I see them. I don't know why. I hate it.

We have ARFID. We have known for a while now that we probably- most likely- had it. It affects all of us to varying degrees but we're not here to discuss that part. We're just going to be talking in an overall general sense of our experience with it instead of detailed specifics.
Now a doctor confirmed it. Which, funnily enough was at our appointment for our knees. We're being recommended a dietitian to help our "relationship with food". Apparently they'll sit down with us every so often and have a meal. That's what the doc said anyway.
We've known for a while because we have little to no interest in food. If it's not something we like, we won't eat it. We avoid new foods or things we know we won't like either based on looks, smell or both. When we do attempt to branch out a lot of the times the foods we believe we wouldn't like are exactly that. We don't like them for a number of reasons. Usually taste and texture. It makes us feel nauseous. We've always been this way and we never have really eaten a lot in general. We have a small appetite and a lot of the times we miss hunger signals all together.
We would like to try new foods and enjoy them. We would like to be able to eat all sorts of things but we really can't bring ourselves to. If we don't like it we won't ever want to eat it again. Which I wish more people understood. We've always been called "difficult" and "picky" which mind you, makes us feel really guilty. If we could eat it without issue we would.
We've been told that if we go into eating with a more open mind we'll like more things but honestly sometimes just looking at the food makes us nauseous. Especially with sauces. We used to love sauces like ketchup and ranch. Now they make us feel sick. So we don't use them anymore. Seeing a sauce on a sandwich makes us feel sick, the food that we would normally enjoy has been contaminated and we can no longer eat it. If we could have an open mind about food WE WOULD. It's not like there's an on and off switch for this.
Some of us are braver and will try new foods and sometimes we do end up liking them.. sometimes foods we like fall out of favour like sauces did. Sometimes they come back into favour as well. Sometimes it's just very dependent on who is fronting.. and then issues sometimes arise after they leave. But overall, it's just hard. It's tiring. It sucks. It feels terrible. It makes us feel guilty especially when we need to spit out the food when it was fine moments before. We've been taught that calling food gross or spitting it out when the person who made it is in the room, at the table or whatever is rude.
We're hoping that with this new dietitian we'll improve. That it'll get at least a little bit easier, a little better. We did buy more foods that we liked yesterday. Easy to put together too. So we're taking small steps. Gosh, wishing eating was just not difficult.
